Cape Mentelle has developed an international reputation for blended wines which are perfectly suited to the climate and soils of Margaret River.
This wine is no exception, capturing the depth and structure of the cabernet with the dark fruit of merlot which, when blended with small amounts of cabernet franc and petit verdot, create a well-rounded, full and rich style.
This Cape Mentelle Chardonnay style draws inspiration from the most traditional Burgundian methods to produce a wine displaying aromatic complexity and a fine, textured palate with a long, rich finish.
Established in 1970, Cape Mentelle was one of Margaret River's founding five wineries. This blend of Sauvignon Blanc Semillon displays the unique vibrancy & fruit purity of Margaret River. It is crisp, radiant & aromatic.
Cape Mentelle Shiraz takes inspiration from the most traditional techniques in order to highlight our ideal temperate, maritime climate for this classic Australian variety. The fruit is partially destemmed, berry sorted, cold soaked and traditionally fermented.
If variety is the spice of life, then Chandon Brut is a perfectly seasoned little sparkling. A mix of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier grapes are all carefully selected from cool climate spots across Victoria.
TASTING NOTES
Chandon Brut is pale straw with green hues, with excellent fine bead and mousse. Bright and fresh aromas of apple sorbet, orchard blossoms and lemon zest sit alongside subtle brioche and fresh sourdough characters. The palate leads with classic Chardonnay pear flavour. Gently creamy texture, zesty acidity and complex hints of nougat lead to a long, dry and refreshing finish.
Chandon Rosé is our little ode to the fruit that calls Australia home, and it sings thanks to the careful blending of wines from the YarraValley, Strathbogie Ranges and the Whitlands Plateau.
